Your policy, enforced by us. Your own OrgAdmins control an Organisation Policy panel — turn each capability on or off for your whole organisation, and the platform enforces it (not just the UI):
Enterprise Mode — one click turns all of the above off (plus cross-organisation sharing), as a safe default for regulated tenants.
AI on your terms. Route all AI through your own gateway/region, run a local model fully on-premises, or switch AI off completely for your tenant — AI uses a single, centrally-chosen model you approve. (See the *Flexible AI* feature for the deployment options.)
Accountability. An append-only Audit Log records every privileged action — administrator impersonation (with a required reason and a time-boxed session), data exports and backups, deletions and policy changes — so you can see who did what, when, to which tenant.
Access & isolation. Role-scoped administration (Organisation Admin vs system operator), tenant-isolated data, cross-organisation sharing off by default, a configurable session lifetime, and the option to require Microsoft single sign-on for your organisation (plus a self-registration domain allowlist).
Privacy. Self-service account deletion (right to erasure) that removes your data and cleans up behind you; AI prompt text isn't retained by default.
*On the roadmap:* bring-your-own IdP (SAML / OIDC) with MFA, dedicated single-tenant / in-region instances, and SOC 2 Type II.
Flexible AI — Your Cloud, Your Gateway, or On-Premises
Use AI diagram generation the way your security team allows — our managed service, routed through your own gateway, or a local model running entirely inside your network. Or switch AI off and keep the full deterministic platform.
- Managed (default) — our hosted, up-to-date Claude models. Nothing to run.
- Your gateway / region — route all AI through your own proxy or private endpoint, so traffic stays under your data-residency and DLP controls. A configuration setting, not a code change.
- Fully on-premises — point Diagramatix at a local, self-hosted model (e.g. Llama or Qwen behind your own gateway). Diagram content never leaves your network — ideal for air-gapped or highly regulated environments.
- Off — disable AI entirely per organisation and use the complete manual + deterministic platform (process mining, simulation and risk/controls all still work).
AI Generate turns a description, document or image into a BPMN, flowchart, ArchiMate, domain or state-machine diagram. How that AI runs is your choice:
Whichever mode you pick, AI uses a single, centrally-chosen model your administrators control — nothing is ever sent to a model you haven't approved.
Entity Lists — Governed Pool & Lane Naming
Name BPMN pools and lanes from a maintained Organisation hierarchy, external-participant list and IT-systems list — consistent across every diagram.
- Maintain three reusable lists per Organisation: External Participants, IT Systems, and an Organisation → Org Unit → Team → Role hierarchy

Project Re-numbering
Give a whole project consistent hierarchical numbers — folders, diagrams and activities — either preserving your APQC structure or renumbering from the root, with a full preview before anything changes.
- Configure numbering per project: APQC-preserving (keep the APQC folders and diagram names, renumber each diagram's activities) or a full renumber from the project root
- Full-renumber pattern: a fixed 0–3 letter prefix on the top-level number, then dotted level numbers (e.g. ABC2.3.1.4), single-digit up to 9 and two-digit zero-padded beyond — applied to folders, diagrams and activities
- APQC mode keeps your framework codes and renumbers activities contiguously — new non-APQC steps slot in, and gaps from deleted steps close automatically (numbers stay bare and sort correctly)

Import another vendor's BPMN diagram
Bring a BPMN diagram drawn in another tool into Diagramatix exactly as it looks — pools any size or side-by-side, message flows drawn straight between elements that aren't lined up — without a wall of layout warnings.
- Reproduce from an image: attach a picture of the diagram to AI Generate, tick “Reproduce original layout”, and Diagramatix rebuilds it at the positions it was drawn — pools, lanes, tasks, gateways and the connectors between them, kept where they are
- Free-form / imported layout: a per-diagram switch (Diagram Properties) that lets pools be any size and sit anywhere (not forced into stacked full-width bands) and lets message flows run rectilinearly between elements that aren't vertically aligned
- No false errors: the layout validation that enforces Diagramatix's own conventions is relaxed for these diagrams, so an imported foreign model isn't buried in red flags
- Still fully editable: an imported diagram is a normal Diagramatix diagram — move things, edit labels, and draw more, all without the editor snapping pools back into a column or messages back to vertical
- Safe fallback: if the picture is too rough to place precisely, the import still succeeds using Diagramatix's clean auto-layout rather than failing
Simulation Resources You Can See
Every resource in a simulation is one you drew. Nothing is invented behind the scenes, nothing is provisioned silently — if a team affects the answer, it is named on screen where you can change it.
- Harvested from your diagram — teams come from your swim-lanes and from any team named on a task, across the process you opened *and* every sub-process it links into.
- Nothing hidden. A tool that quietly invents a resource gives you an answer you cannot audit. If work is charged to a name that isn't in the library, the results say so — and tell you that work ran with no capacity limit, so its waiting times are understated.
- Typos surface as findings, not silence. "Sales Team" and "Sales Taem" both appear, side by side, so the discrepancy is something you can see and correct rather than something the run absorbs.
- Scoped to the process you're simulating — opening one process doesn't provision the teams of every unrelated process in the project.
- Project-level library — maintain resources from the project page without opening a diagram.
Repeats & Multi-Instance Simulation
"Check each section" isn't done the same number of times twice. Give a repeating task a distribution for how many passes, and the simulation runs it the way the work is actually done.
- Sequential multi-instance runs the instances as one uninterrupted block, holding the resource throughout — which is how a person actually works through a list.
- Parallel multi-instance runs as many at once as the resource allows; the remainder queue and start as capacity frees. A parallel marker on a one-person team behaves sequentially, and the Simulator says so instead of pretending otherwise.
- The count is a distribution, not a guess — because the number of passes varies exactly as much as the durations do.
- An implausible count is reported before the run, not silently trimmed: entering 3 *minutes* where 3 *passes* were meant is caught up front, rather than discovered after the run.
System Tasks Run Themselves
Service, Script and Business-Rule tasks are charged to a shared Automation resource on a 24/7 calendar — so you can draw systems and people in the same lane without the flow zig-zagging between them.
- Real processes interleave people and systems at every step. Modelling that faithfully used to mean a separate "Automation" lane and a flow that crossed into it and back on every system task.
- Now a task's marker decides who does it: User / Manual / none go to the swim-lane's team; Service, Script and Business Rule go to Automation.
- Automation runs 24/7 — it doesn't wait for office hours, so overnight processing is modelled correctly.
- It is an ordinary, visible resource: it appears in the library with a capacity and a cost you control.
- Your diagram stays readable, and the simulation still tells the truth about who is busy.
Honest Simulation Runs
A model whose queues never drain is a finding about your process, not a crash. The run stops, says why, and points at the bottleneck — instead of showing you a half-finished answer that looks complete.
- When demand exceeds capacity, the queue grows for as long as the run continues. The Simulator stops and explains, above every figure: how many cases were still in progress, and that the number was still climbing.
- Partial results are labelled as partial. Stopping without saying so would present part of a run as a finished answer — the most dangerous kind of wrong number.
- It tells you what to change — raise capacity on the named bottleneck, lower the arrival rate, or shorten the longest task.
- Token Trace Table — the whole run as a grid, one row per case: where the time went, what waited, what was interrupted. A blank cell means the case never went there; a zero means it did and took no time. Export to CSV.
Compare Two Versions of a Process
Point at an as-is and a to-be and get the list of what actually changed — steps added, removed, renamed, moved between lanes — as a table, a document, or a plain-English narrative.
- Reads the two models, not the two pictures: a renamed task is reported as a rename, not as a delete plus an add.
- Covers steps, connectors, gateways and properties, including moves between swim-lanes.
- Export as CSV for a spreadsheet or .docx for a change pack.
- Generate an AI narrative — a plain-English summary of what changed and what it implies, grounded in the table rather than invented.
